Life Transitions

Big change — chosen or not — can leave you feeling both hopeful and completely at sea. You don't have to figure out who you are becoming on your own.

Life transitions rarely announce themselves cleanly. One day you look up and realize the ground you've been standing on has shifted. A job ends. A relationship changes. A child leaves — or arrives. You move countries. You lose someone. You realize the life you've built isn't quite the one you want.

Transitions can be big, small, or both at once

Some transitions are visible from the outside: a divorce, a move, a career pivot, an empty nest, retirement, an aging parent, a diagnosis. Others live more privately — a quiet realization, a slow shift in identity, a values change. All of them can bring grief and hope at the same time, often in the same afternoon.

How I can help

In our work together we can:

  • Slow down and actually feel what this transition is asking of you
  • Grieve the version of your life that's ending — even the good things you're choosing to leave
  • Get honest about what you want next, not just what you 'should' want
  • Build the small, sustainable steps toward the life on the other side
  • Steady your nervous system so you can make decisions from a grounded place

Drawing on ACT and person-centred care, we'll clarify your values and let them guide the next chapter — instead of letting the momentum of your old life make the choices for you.

FAQs

Common questions.

My transition isn't dramatic. Is it worth talking about?+
Yes. Some of the most disorienting transitions are the quiet ones — the ones no one throws a party or sends a card for. Small does not mean unimportant.
I chose this change but I still feel awful. Is something wrong with me?+
Not at all. Even wanted transitions involve loss. Grieving what you're leaving behind — a role, a relationship, a version of yourself — is part of moving through it well, not a sign you made the wrong call.
I'm caring for an aging parent and I'm falling apart. Can you help?+
Yes. Caregiving is one of the most under-recognized transitions there is. We can make space for the exhaustion, grief, love, and identity shift that comes with it.
How long does this work usually take?+
It depends on the transition. Some clients need a short course of sessions to find their footing; others prefer longer support as they rebuild. We'll figure out the right shape for you together.
