Anxiety

When your mind won't slow down and the worry starts running the day, you don't have to keep white-knuckling it alone. Together we can quiet the noise and help you find steadier ground.

Anxiety has a way of narrowing the world. What used to feel manageable — a phone call, a decision, a busy weekend — can start to feel like too much. If you're here, chances are your body has been carrying more than its fair share for a while.

What anxiety can look like

Anxiety shows up differently for everyone. For some it's a racing mind at 2 a.m. For others it's tight shoulders, a knot in the stomach, or a quiet dread that follows them from meeting to meeting. It can look like avoiding the things you used to love, over-preparing for everything, or feeling like you're constantly bracing for something to go wrong.

How we'll work together

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in what actually works. We'll draw on evidence-based tools from CBT and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) — but always at your pace and shaped around your life. That might mean learning to notice anxious thoughts without being swept away by them, practising small experiments to loosen anxiety's grip, or clarifying what matters most to you so worry doesn't get the final say.

You don't need to arrive with the right words or a tidy story. You just need to show up. I'll meet you with compassion, curiosity, and hope for the future.

FAQs

Common questions.

Is what I'm feeling really anxiety, or am I just stressed?+
Both are valid reasons to reach out. Stress usually eases once the pressure lifts, while anxiety tends to linger and take on a life of its own — showing up in your body, your sleep, and your relationships. You don't need a diagnosis to deserve support. If it's affecting your daily life, that's reason enough.
Will I have to talk about my past?+
Only as much as feels helpful to you. Some people find it useful to explore where anxious patterns came from; others prefer to focus on the present and building practical tools. There's no single right way, and we'll follow your lead.
How long does anxiety counselling usually take?+
It varies. Some clients notice real shifts within a handful of sessions; others prefer longer-term support as they work through deeper patterns. We'll check in regularly and adjust as we go — you're always in the driver's seat.
Do you offer online sessions?+
Yes. I offer in-person sessions in Tsawwassen on Tuesdays and Fridays, and secure online sessions Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday for clients across BC.
What if I don't know where to start?+
That's completely okay. Many people arrive feeling foggy or overwhelmed. Our first session is a gentle conversation — you don't need to prepare anything. We'll figure it out together.
